I have wanted to break into the affordable housing business for some time and saw David Wolman and Felicia Edelman's post on Instagram about how they want to teach others how to do what they do. I have known David for many years and admired how they were able to build Uncle Dave's Housing from the ground up. I reached out to David and expressed my interest in learning from him. He linked me with his leasing agent, picked out a duplex for me that he believed would be a good location to operate a group home, connected me with appropriate licensing and insurance, and even told me about the smaller details such as which bunk-beds to buy. I opened up my very first Wellness Housing group home on September 1st and in less than two months we are full with guests. There is no way that I would have tried to figure out all the intricacies of this business on my own. I am grateful to SOS Housing Coaching for their invaluable consultations.

I’ve started running my first group home in May of 2022 with the help of Dave and Felicia. I’ve been thinking of doing this business for about 4 years and was hesitant until I met them or rather spoke with them on the phone. Through social media I got connected with SOS Housing and Uncle Dave and decided to try out a coaching session. We were re-structuring our facility and wanted to move more towards Transitional Housing. Felicia and Uncle Dave provided us with some really good ideas and shared some of their experience. We got started right away and have followed their directions. After our call, Felicia has continued to be very helpful and answered all questions we’ve had. We will continue to use their assistance.
